custom butchery order form

We believe that grass-fed animals produce the highest quality meat while adding to the biodiversity of a farm.  We're glad that you do too.

To place an order, follow the three steps below. This first year we have a selection of Pork, Goat, Lamb, and Chicken available.  All of the meat will be packaged, labeled, and frozen upon delivery/pickup. The animals will be slaughtered on-farm to reduce stress of the animal and thus will increase the quality of the meat. The meat will be butchered at a local butcher shop by trained Craigardan staff and other local professional butchers.  Quality, care, and safety for the animals, land, farmers, and consumers are our top priority.

Since we have a very limited amount of meat available, we suggest that you place your order as quickly as possible.  


What is available?

CHICKEN

We are raising Freedom Rangers which is a breed of broiler chicken that is best known for its ability to forage on pasture.  The chickens have also been fed a supplemental amount of organic grain purchased locally.  Only whole frozen chickens are available at this time.  A deposit of $10 is required per bird.  The birds will be available for pick up as early as July 20th. 

PORk - SOLD OUT

The pigs are a mix of Old Spot and Berkshire, which in combination are well-known for their long bellies (more bacon!). Pigs have been pasture and forest-raised and have been fed organic grain purchased locally.  Our Pigs are available for sale by the whole or the half. They are priced by the hanging weight, which is the final weight after slaughter and evisceration.  Please note that the total hanging weight will not equal the total weight in finished cuts (expect a 30-40% loss).

LAMB

Lambs are a mixture of Katahdin (meat breed) and East Fresian (dairy breed). The lambs are pasture raised and 100% grass fed.  They will be slaughtered between 6-9 months of age.  Lambs are available for sale by the whole or the half. They are priced by the hanging weight, which is the final weight after slaughter and evisceration.  Please note that the total hanging weight will not equal the total weight in finished cuts (expect a 30-40% loss). 

GOAT - SOLD OUT

Our goats are getting a small amount of organic grain every couple of days to help move them from paddock to paddock, otherwise they are grazing and getting the rest of their nutrition from the pasture.  Goats are for sale by the whole or the half. They are priced by the hanging weight, which is the final weight after slaughter and evisceration.  Please note that the total hanging weight will not equal the total weight in finished cuts (expect a 30-40% loss).

SOLD OUT A deposit of $100 is required if you are buying a quarter of an animal, $200 for a half and $400 for a whole. Pork will be available for pickup by October 15th.
Goat
SOLD OUT A deposit of $100 is required.
Lamb
A deposit of $100 is required.

Once you submit the order form above you will receive an email confirmation from us confirming the total deposit amount due, when your meat will be available for pick-up and a link to the custom cut list form.  You may order custom cuts or let us choose for you!

Please immediately pay your deposit.  Deposits must be received by August 20th.
