The Visual Arts Residency is an opportunity for visual and performing artists to fully immerse themselves in an exquisite retreat environment conducive to working with no distraction.  We invite applications from emerging and accomplished artists who would benefit from a designated amount of focused time to create new work, complete a project, conduct research, teach a workshop, collaborate, or simply sketch amid the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains.

Visual Artists have 24/7 access to flexible studio spaces appropriate for their work.  Artists are encouraged to exchange ideas and engage with the creative energy of the staff and residents, explore the surrounding Adirondack region, and share their knowledge and work with the local community.

Requirements:

• Open to self-directed artists working in any media who can provide their own materials and equipment

• Present a short talk as part of our community Applebarn Series to fellow program participants and the public
