Join us throughout the residency season for our free public series of short and informal artist talks, readings, and presentations. We’ll learn about works-in-progress from our artists and scholars-in-residence with informative and inspiring presentations in all disciplines. This is a wonderful way to kick off your weekend! Bring a friend, all are welcome.

Johnna Arnold
Johnna Arnold is an artist based in Beacon, NY. Working across photography, ceramics, drawing, and social practice, she creates sculptural objects and images that explore interconnected biological, social, and ecological systems. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at venues including San Francisco Camerawork and the California Museum of Photography, and in group exhibitions at the Dorsky Museum, Headlands Center for the Arts, Oakland International Airport, and the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery. Arnold has created public projects supported by the Palo Alto Art Center, the Tulsa Artist Fellowship, and the Oakland Museum of California, and her work is held in public collections including Pier 24 in San Francisco and UNESCO in Paris. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Banff Centre for Arts, Kala Art Institute, Vermont Studio Center, and RayKo Photography. Recently, she co-curated the land-based exhibition Yard Work and is exhibiting work focused on contemporary relationships to petroleum at the Dorsky Museum in New Paltz, NY. Arnold received her BA in Photography from Bard College (1996) and her MFA from Mills College (2005). She has taught at the San Francisco Art Institute and the University of San Francisco, and currently teaches at SUNY New Paltz.
Claire Cohen
Claire Cohen is a Brooklyn-based freelance writer and editor interested in classic literary themes such as death, love, grief, and childhood, as well as the ways in which these themes are evolving with the modern day. Her current work aims to elevate "romantasy" literature by exploring the sexual power dynamics inherent to it, while embracing the sense of creativity and play that has drawn readers to the genre. She is inspired by the outdoors, cooking, video games, and anime.
Hannah Rose Roberts
Hannah Rose Roberts is a Pushcart Prize-nominated writer with an MFA from the University of California, Riverside. Her work has appeared in Ploughshares, Architectural Digest, and elsewhere, and she loves helping people excavate compelling stories from their own lives. She is based in Monterrey, Mexico, where she and her partner can most often be found wandering Costco.
Mei Fung Chan
Hong Kong born artist, Mei Fung, often uses self-portraits to create complex narratives relating to contemporary Hong Kong culture. As a printmaker by training, Mei began her printmaking at Bridgewater State University in 2012. She later graduated with her Master of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in printmaking in 2017. She is a mother of two children and currently resides in New York state. Although she is living in New York, she oftenr travel back to Hong Kong to visit her family and also to Beijing, Shanghai to experience Chinese culture. She has been to South Africa, France, Italy(Rome and Venice), Canada for her artist residencies program.
